Copy an answer with or without citations

How to copy an answer from a conversation with citations included or stripped out for a clean paste.

Written by Jona Smulders Cohen

Every answer in a conversation has a copy action. By default it copies the answer with its citations. You can also copy a clean version with citations removed.

Copy with citations

  1. Hover the answer.

  2. Click the Copy icon in the row of actions below the answer.

The copy includes the inline numbered markers like [1] and any sources that were part of the answer. Aracor copies the content as both rich text and plain text, so when you paste into Word, Google Docs, or email, headings, lists, bold, and tables come through with their formatting. Pasting into a plain-text editor gives you the same content without the formatting markup.

Copy without citations

If you want a clean version (for a Slack message, an external email, or a draft you're handing off), use the variant:

  1. Hover the answer.

  2. Click the small chevron next to the Copy icon.

  3. Choose Copy without citations.

This removes the inline numbered markers, removes any "Sources" or "References" section at the end, and strips citation tags. Bold, lists, and structure stay intact.
